🎧 Bullard thrilled by Stewart's return
Nottingham Panthers commentator speaks on latest episode of The Elite Podcast
Nottingham Panthers commentator Jono Bullard says bringing Danny Stewart back for a second season is the most important signing of the summer.
Jono is a guest on the latest edition of The Elite Podcast where he reflects on a season that saw Panthers help take the title race into the final weekend of the regular season and, of course, winning the play-offs in dramatic fashion.
And he couldn’t have been any happier at the progress Stewart has made after his first season, after arriving from Coventry Blaze a year ago.
“I think Danny has been the perfect fit for the organisation,” Jono said. “He’s come in from outside, he has a lot of experience and knows exactly what the league is all about inside out.
“He’s helped put together a team that competed every single night and that was something the Panthers fans wanted to see. Not necessarily win every game, although that would have been nice, but that was what we did.
“You can see the respect he has from the locker room and throughout the organisation and I, for one, was delighted when he took the job last year in the first place.
“So for Danny and Linton Grant to come back and continue what they’ve started has been great news. Getting him back as the head coach was the most important re-signing we could have.”
