➡️ Monday Review: Clan bring in Finnish article
New goalie arrives in Glasgow plus all the latest around the Elite League
Glasgow Clan have bolstered their netminding department with the signing of experienced Finnish netminder Sami Aittokallio.
The 32-year-old, with appearances in the NHL with Colorado Avalanche under his belt not to mention spells in the AHL, Finnish Liiga and more recently, in the DEL and in Slovakia, arrives at the club to replace Landon Bow, who has left the club, it has been confirmed along with defensive pair Simon Després and Darien Kielb.
Aittokallio’s capture is one welcomed by head coach Corey Neilson who revealed his new goalie was someone high on his list this summer.
He told the Clan website: “Sami was my primary target at season’s end. He’s smooth and calm in his movements, recovers to his feet well, has really good hockey IQ, plays fast and has good hands. He doesn’t ever really look flustered in the net.”
